Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina is a Kyrgyzstani Peruvian Muay Thai fighter, mixed martial artist and currently competes within the UFC flyweight division. She is the younger sister of her fellow UFC fighter and the former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko started her combat sport career by becoming an Muay Thai kickboxer. She made her debut in the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko won the tournament in the finals and beat Suzane Miller in the finals via unanimity. Antonina Shevchenko took home a second prize in 2007, with a bronze award in 2008. She also won a gold medal in 2011 and won the title of 2017 IFMA World Amateur MuayThailand Champion. Antonia began her professional career 2003. She was the winner of the WKC K-1 World Championship 2012 for Light Welterweight along with The Lion Fight Lightweight Championships 2016, and the WMC World Championships and the Phoenix FC World Championships 2016. Antonina's final bout took place in the Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. She won by a an unanimous vote. Antonina Shevchenko shattered her debut professional MMA record in 2002 when she fought at the KFK cup in Kyrgystan against Anara Bayanova. She won the second-round TKO fight and her subsequent two bouts at the WXF: X-Impact World Championships in 2003, resulting in the record being 3-0. Shevchenko took a break from MMA so that she could focus on boxing. She made her return in a fight against Anissa Haddaoui at Phoenix FC 3, 2017. Shevchenko defeated Anissa through a unanimous decision before she fought Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. In 2018, she left the league and started competing in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko knocked out Jaimelene Nievera during Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11 Antonina's improved strike technique let her TKO Nievera via knees in the body. After this win, Antonina was awarded an UFC deal. Antonina Shevchenko was able to make her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Hitters' Finale, where she faced Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko beat Roxanne Modafferi with a split decision fight. She won the initial bout by unanimous decision. Antonina came back from losing after defeating Lucie Pudilova on UFC on ESPN Covington against Lawler with a back-naked choke. She was awarded the prize of fight-of-the-night. Shevchenko was defeated by Katlyn Cookagian and then was able to defeat Ariane Lipski's three bouts. Antonina has been defeated recently by Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos-Walker.
