Celebrate the special occasion. Aurora Aksnes' earliest memory of music is when she discovered an old grand piano hidden in the attic. The piano was fascinating to her what it could do. Jan Oystein Aksnes' parents May Britt Aksnes encouraged her to make music as a means of personal growth, rather than for the purpose of making money or for as a hobby. In the end, she started writing her own music. She credits renowned composers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan for inspiration, as well as an affinity for Bjork's style. She decided to start performing the songs she wrote publicly after her mother suggested that they might help others not to gain fame with her music, but rather to help the people around them understand their own importance and how they can affect the world. The piano was first played by her when she was six years old and was writing her first song when she was nine. The fact that she was a musician wasn't known to her family until she was fourteen. Aurora had no idea of being famous. The singer claims she is a fan of writing songs. According to her, music is the best means of communicating anything.
